Grace | FIVE

Today the one that made me a mom is five.  Somehow this feels so monumental today and I find myself wanting to tear up at the thought.  How have five years come and gone with our sweet girl?

To my beautiful baby girl,

This parenting adventure has been such a breeze with you.  Sure your emotions sometimes give us a run for our money.  But you also love with your whole being, smile with every corner of your mouth, and celebrate every accomplishment as if it was your own.  I don't know if I could feel more pride if I tried for the young lady you are turning into.

This last year you became a big sister, again.  You became my biggest helper and extra set of hands.  You finished your first year and started your last year of preschool.  You started dreaming of becoming a doctor or a firefighter.  Which is only natural because your heart is always in the right place.  Your imagination grew with no bounds and you are always thinking of something.  You conquered your fear of water over your head and learned how to swim.  You also did some more gymnastics, something you are truly fond of.  This year you learned how to write your name and count to 10.  You are currently learning to identify numbers and letters.  You are always singing, dancing or moving in general. You also improved your golf game.

Four has been such a fun age, with your speech improving and your legibility going up.  The things that come out of your mouth sometimes surprise me but bring me great joy to know those wheels are always turning.  You love the colors blue and yellow.  You love Elsa and Belle.  You are still obsessed with doggie.  You like chicken nuggets but are a hard pass on McDonalds nuggets these days.  You are kind of picky in the food department and prefer peanut butter and jelly sandwiches over a lot of things.

I could go on and on and on about the quirks that make my heart grow with love... but at the end of the day I hope you always know just how much I love you.  I know eventually you are going to have to overcome your emotional side, but just like mommy you will figure it out.  I have no doubt that your future holds nothing but bright things and I can't wait to watch you blaze your path in this world.

I am your biggest fan and I promise to always be here for you.

Happy 5th birthday sweet love!
