Shape Refine LS Tee - $58

I like the idea of a long t-shirt with embellished sleeves but this one falls short for me for two reasons.  The obvious one is that this "tee", as they call it, costs $58.  Something about the word tee and anything over $25 just does not sit well with me.  The second issue with this shirt, it is made of a spandex like material that is supposed to smooth and suck you in.  But it clings in all the wrong places.  So back to Stitch Fix it goes.


Skies Are Blue Ollie Cotton Blend Textured Cardigan - $58

This cardigan is made of a really lovely heavy cotton material in a matches anything color, perfect for the bitter cold temperatures.  I liked everything about it but the collar.  It just didn't do my frame any favors, so I returned this one, as well.


Studio Blue Kenova Distressed Rolled Skinny Jeans - $64

I loved these jeans and really wanted to keep them.  They fit me well and I'm a fan of being able to style them many different ways.  Ultimately I returned them though because of the price tag.  My current favorite pair of jeans cost about $20 and come from Walmart.  So it is REALLY hard for me to justify something three times the cost of that.


Papermoon Fayette Mixed Material Blouse - $38

I really love the Papermoon brand, the green on this shirt and the way it fit.  But I have tons of lightweight shirts like this, and did not feel an immediate attachment requiring me to keep this shirt no matter what, so I sent it back.


Absolutely Bibiyana Side Button Detail Pullover - $48

This is the one item from this box that I kept.  I'm OBSESSED.  I don't know why stripes are gold details are my absolute favorite right now, but they are.  It is like I am emerging from my preppy shell and I can't get enough.  Even my husband bought me a striped Kate Spade bag for Christmas.  He knows.  I love this shirt because I will be able to wear it for multiple seasons and style it many different ways.  Which in my book is always worth it.

I have another box scheduled to show up here at the end of this month and I am excited to request a few things for upcoming events and see what shows up.  I am still loving the thrill of someone else shopping for me but thrown by some of these prices.  For the entire month of February I am going to try and refrain from browsing clearance racks for clothing I really don't need, so these boxes will be my only indulgences.

I got my last Stitch Fix box a month ago... and then forgot to share it.  As you do when you are attending and doing ALL the fall activities with your kids.  Before too long, my next one will be here.  So there is that.

Mavi Alanis Skinny Jean - $98

Yes, you read that right... $98.  Do people pay that much for jeans?  I certainly don't.  These went back because of the price tag.  Had they been cheaper I probably would have considered them.  To be honest though, they reminded me of a pair of jeggings I picked up from Walmart.  Is that good for Walmart or bad for these jeans?


Hutch Altana 2fer Knit Maxi Dress - $78

This dress you all.  I probably should have kept it but I just couldn't justify buying two dresses this time around.  This is a fully lined, high-low dress, that is absolutely amazing quality.  Even now I kind of regret not buying it because it was SO cute and fit SO well.  WHY do I do this to myself?!

So after last boxes debacle where most of the pieces had defects, I was MUCH happier with this box. Minus the severely over priced jeans and kimono I really liked most of this box and can't wait for my next one to get here soon.

41 Hawthorn - Prinsloo Ruffle Neck Blouse - $58

You can probably clearly see why this blouse was promptly put in the return box.  Shall I count the reasons?  1. It is see through.  2. It is TIGHT and doesn't fit right.  3. The collar is super insanely itchy.  That's a hard no, no and no.

 Papermoon - Lucasta Cuff Sleeve Knit Top - $38

Spoiler alert.  This is the one item I kept.  I am a huge fan of stripes and I love the pop of bright on the sleeves.  I will say though, after washing and drying this shirt (as directed on the tag...) it has already shrunk quite a bit.  Still cute, but probably not worth the $38 I paid for it. 

Papermoon - Bastille Tulip Sleeve Blouse - $38

I love this color and I love the sleeves on this shirt.  I would have been more inclined to keep this, but it had a defect on the front left.  So back in the box it went.  It is interesting to point out that the shirt I kept from my first box was this exact brand, cut and style.  I'm a fan.

Level 99 - Francis Straight Leg Pant - $88

I asked for colored pants in this box.  These gray ones were sent to me.  I returned them for a few different reasons.  The quality is way above average.  But I cannot justify spending $88 on pants.  Ever.  I also was not a fan of the zipper detail on the pockets.  It was just awkward.  I like my pockets useful.  Finally, I returned these pants because the cut was kind of funny.  When I had them pulled up to where I think they are supposed to be pulled up, they were almost high waters.  So I don't know about that nonsense.

Market & Spruce - Auria Embroidered Dress - $74

I also asked for something to wear to my class reunion in this box.  Y'all, I LOVE this dress.  But it was already coming unraveled at the hem, so I made the decision to send it back.  I am still kind of bummed about that.  But it is what it is.

So after three months worth of boxes, these are my current take aways.

• The quality does not necessarily line up with the price tags.  My first shirt and item I kept, similar to the green one in this box, has loose threads all over it after wearing it a handful of times.  If I am spending $40 on one shirt, I expect it to last longer than two months.
• Receiving a box once a month is just about right.  I don't feel bad for buying one shirt or one item once a month for the price range I have been receiving.
• It is still SO fun to have someone else shop for me!  I love seeing what they select for me and being surprised by how items fit when they arrive.

 Helga Ruffle Sleeve Detail Knit Top

I wasn't sure of this print or style when I first saw what was headed my way.  But I am honestly a fan.  I have been gravitating towards florals as of late and a shirt like this can be dressed up or down depending on my needs.  This one is a keeper going into fall (maybe someday the temps will start to cool their roll just a bit), especially because it is fully lined.

Moraine Button Down Chambray Top

I can't y'all.  This shirt is TERRIBLE.  It reminds me so much of a shirt my dad would wear (sorry Dad! Nothing against these shirts on you... just me).  And not in the male clothing on women is in way.  I think this was sent to me because I mentioned that I was heading to a Shania Twain concert next week.  Obviously country music and denim are a thing.  But no.  I knew this one was going back from the minute I pulled it out of the box.

Katlin Poplin Embroidery Detail Dress

I LOVE THIS DRESS.  I truly feel like it cinches in at just the right point.  My only reservation is that it is a fairly simple unlined dress for $68.  Maybe this is what people pay for clothing?  I'm not sure.  But to me it seems high for the material.  I am woefully sending it back.

So I am two boxes in.  What are my thoughts now?  I am so used to paying Target clearance rack prices for the clothing that I wear, that I am still struggling with most of the price points.  Which is unfortunate because I would probably keep a lot more if it were not for the price tags.  I still love having someone else shop for me.  But I am probably going to bump my boxes back out to every other month or more so that I can not feel so much guilt about keeping multiple pieces from each box.  Let's be real... cruising the Target clearance racks this evening I came across a shirt I LOVED for under $10 (Knox Rose brand, anyone?).  I feel zero guilt adding a shirt to my cart when it is priced so low.  But I am really struggling justifying the price points on some of these pieces.

It is that time again!  My July Stitch Fix box has arrived! I'm not going to lie... I was unimpressed at what I saw when I snuck in a...

My body is in that post baby gray area.  About half of my wardrobe comfortably fits, right now.  So to cheer myself up I have found myself adding some items here and there as I come across them.  I am mostly a Target clearance section girl... but I also like to browse places like Kohl's, Old Navy and Ross every now and again.  You see the trend... I don't want to pay a fortune for my clothing.  I am cheap, if you will.

I love new things though... especially adding new pieces to my closet to keep things fresh in there.  So after some of my favorite bloggers have raved about Stitch Fix and the boxes they receive... I made the leap and last week I got my first box in.

Let me backtrack just a second... what is Stitch Fix?  It is a subscription box where you fill out a style profile and pay a small styling fee... they send you 5 personally selected items for you to try on.  If you buy something from your box, your styling fee is applied towards it.  If you buy your entire box, you get a discount.  If you don't like any of your box, you send it back and try again next month (or two months, or whenever... you pick!).

Each month you can leave notes for your stylists about what you are looking for, or special events coming up.  I told my stylist I had just had a baby and gravitated towards clothing that was not form fitting.  I also mentioned that I was looking for some business casual pieces to wear to brunch and what have you.  Lastly I mentioned that I was looking for a pair of colored pants.

Here is what I got... and remember, I am NOT a fashion blogger in any sense of the word.  Maybe next month the pictures will be better.
