29 - hers & his

“The more you praise and celebrate your life, the more there is in life to celebrate.”
-Oprah Winfrey

Friday I turned 29.
Monday Rob turned 29.
And we celebrated entering the last year in our twenties.

There was dinner and margaritas at Texas Roadhouse with my babies and husband.

A trip to the winery in some very soggy weather with my mom, sister and a few of my favorite friends.

Indoor skydiving with my parents and sister.

A birthday dinner with family at Q39, the best KC BBQ there ever was (sorry Joe's!).

On Monday, I took a very excited 5 year old to the store to birthday shop for her daddy.  There is just so much of me I see in her when she gets excited to pick out gifts for people.  He didn't even make it two steps in the door after work before they jumped on him with excitement.

This time next year I will be 30!  Which is hard to believe but something I will welcome with open arms.  I feel like I am finally figuring myself out.

I am still Amanda, but I am confident in that.  I have accepted I will rarely be on time for scheduled activities.  I have challenged myself with new project and new goals.  I have jumped when the unknown was greater than the known.  I have been myself in a crowd of strangers.  I have stopped worrying so much about what others think or feel.  I have loved with all my being and poured myself into those that mean the most to me.  I have set routines and expectations for myself and my kids.  I have settled into my roll as mom, as imperfect as it may be.

This year is going to bring a lot of new memories, laughter and fun with it.

I am so ready.
