I was hoping the next time I put a post out here.. I'd have a job.  Instead the process has kind of dragged on a bit too long.  Apparently I am one of three.  I was in on Monday for my 2nd interview, where I essentially just watched the current assistant do her thing for two hours.  Before I left I was told I would know Tuesday.  Well Tuesday I get the call that she would like me to come in Thursday.  Not because I got the job, but because she wants me to work with the same assistant that has worked with the other 2 candidates.  Ugh, really?  She is having a hard time making a decision and wants this other assistant to give her some input I guess.  So tomorrow I go in AGAIN.  From 11 to 1.  The bright side is she would like whoever she hires to start work on Monday.  So maybe I will know by tomorrow or Friday?  One can only hope.

Anyway, that is why it is Wednesday and the last time I updated was Saturday.  Cause I was hoping I'd get to share some excitement for a change.

But as you already know my weekend was pretty good.  Sunday was spent at church (I'm super glad I went.. the mass was dedicated to my grandpa's memory.), shopping with my mom, sister and cousin and spending practically the whole day with my family.  After that Monday came a barreling in.  Other than my 2nd interview there wasn't a whole lot interesting going on that day.  Tuesday I went to lunch with Allison. And today I visited some old stomping grounds.  The auto shop I worked at before I left KS.  He is going to have me design a few files for him to send to some companies.  Easy money.  When I got back Piston and I spent the whole day sleeping.. and I'm glad I did, cause it was another scorcher out there.  Except this time there was wind.

Yes, Rob if you are reading this, feel free to complain about how I don't know what hot is. :)

Got some things lined up for the rest of the week but I am really truly hoping I can get some sort of answer from this lady by the end of the week so I can plan accordingly and quit wasting my time thinking that I got this job... cause each interview leaves me feeling just a tad bit different.  So I don't even know what to think anymore?

Was just what I needed.


I have the best friends ever.  Just when I was starting to feel down and kind of lonely the past couple of nights, my best friend Al sent me a text message.  She wanted to hang out today.  So we called up Kara and made arrangements to swim.  It's been YEARS since I've even been to a swimming pool.  But it was nice.  Very relaxing.  Minus the sunburn across the top half of my back.  Yuck.  After that Kara had to go to work so Allison and I went to dinner at Cheddars.  Which if you are in the KC area and haven't tried that yet, what the hell are you waiting for?? That was after we got my car washed and before we went to visit Kara at the bowling alley.  The same bowling alley that used to be THE hang out in high school.  It was like a trip down memory lane.  Made for such a good night... which was JUST what I needed.

Friday I had my job interview.  It went so well that she asked me to come back on Monday for a working interview!  I'm so excited.  If I land this job I will be working full days Monday, Tuesday and Thursday and a half day Wednesday with Friday, Saturday and Sunday off.  It's perfect.  And she understands the situation of Rob being deployed right now and what not.  Always helps to have a boss that is willing to work with you.  :)

So things are moving right a long.  I just finished my final admissions test for devry.  Still trying to get my FAFSA and all that junk figured out.  It's a huge pain in the ass with a name change.  So glad I will NEVER have to do this again.  Anyway, my advisor still wants to have me all set up by August 3rd, even though classes don't start until August 29th.  I'm hoping.  But I guess we will see?

Other than that I have a very busy day going on tomorrow, and then a busy Monday at least with this interview and a doctors appointment.  Could potentially be working by the end of next week.  Wouldn't that just be perfect?

Was a very productive day.


Well technically it started last night.  I submitted my information to get a phone call today from an admissions counselor at Devry.  At about noon I heard from Robert who talked to me for roughly two hours I believe.  He was very informative, and helped make my decision very easy.  I've decided to pursue a Bachelors of Multimedia Design and Development.  Or in simpler terms a BA in Graphic Design.  It will be all online and worst case scenario I finish it in 2 years and 8 months.  But since I will be transferring classes in, I'm hoping it will be closer to 2 years. :)

After I got all that taken care of, I showered to head to dinner with my family.  When I got out I checked my e-mail and there was a response from one of the places I put my resume into!  I have my first interview Friday.  I'm nervous but so stinking ready to be back in the work force providing an extra income to this household (especially if the government can't get their shit together before August!)

Of course with all good things comes a negative.  My bank card has been shut off because apparently some data base it was in has been compromised.  So here I am alone in Kansas.  With no actual bank to go to and I have no money to fill up my very empty gas tank.  Ain't that how it always goes?  Luckily my bank is awesome and was able to help me out.  Still.. military wives always say that when your husband leaves things will start to fall apart.  First it was the toilet overflowing like two days after he left (stupid toilet!).  It had been acting funny for awhile but of course it waits for him to leave to be to silly to just leave.  Then this with the card... what's next?

Anyway, Rob should be logging on Facebook any minute to chat with me.  So I am headed off here to my warm bed and I will update later about how things go! :)

As I am a military spouse, going through a deployment.  The only person I live with is actually not a person but rather a furry dog with four legs.  There isn't always someone to talk to whenever I feel like it.  My mom does a really good job, and I am getting to talk to Rob fairly often.  But at the end of the day I spend many hours alone.

Until. I find a job and go back to school, hopefully, at least.  Haven't heard anything back from any of the jobs I applied for, unfortunately.  So if I still haven't by the end of this week I will be going to the temp agency Rob used.  At the end of the day my old boss would like me to come make some flyers and stuff for him I think.  Can't remember if mom said I should call him, or if he would call me.  Regardless at some point I will do that.  As for the school front, I thought I had everything figured out to go to school to become an interior designer.  Lately I've been letting my mind think too much, and I've decided to go to school for graphic design.  Something I can do from more places than I can interior design.  Rob and I's careers would go hand in hand.  Now to figure out WHERE or WHAT to do the next year as far as school goes.  One huge downside to the military.. hey though, I chose this lifestyle and I am sure not complaining about the military since they essentially give me all the support I need.

This last weekend we went to the lake for my sister's birthday.  By we I mean Piston and I met my mom, dad, sister and sister's friend down at the lake on Friday.  It was good fun.  We got Piston in the water swimming.  He also went for a boat ride.  Many firsts for him.  I would have loved for Rob to see it though.  Would have made things better.  Obviously.  But we had a good time anyway.  Now we are home and both completely freaking exhausted.  I think swimming wore Piston out.  And dealing with the dog by myself wore me out.

Nothing too exciting planned this week.  Hopefully going to get work and school figured out this week.  That'd be nice.  But I have to find the motivation first.  Someday.. bahaha.

Alright, well.  I have a messy house still from coming home and not wanting to unpack yesterday.  Rob should be waking up within the next couple of hours for his Tuesday.  So there are things to be done.  And Criminal Mind is on TV which lets be realistic is probably where I am going to end up.  LOL.

I'm not honestly sure how many readers I have.  The ones that I do know about, are also my Facebook friends. So most of you guys have been keeping up with my life as of lately.  For those of you that don't know--

• Rob and I are married.  We have been since March of 2010.  It just became online official last weekend. We had a ceremony at the courthouse in Maryland just between the two of us.  The original intention was that we would have a big ceremony later.  Then we found out the Army had other plans for us and so the news has spread. :) I'm very happy with our decision to get married so young.  I wouldn't change anything about it as Rob is the most supportive husband ever.  We keep each other sane, in a funky "I get you" sort of way.
• Our trip to Springfield was a whirlwind of fun.  It always is when you are surrounded by so many kids.  We saw fireworks, listened to live music, visiting with Rob's siblings, shopped in Branson, had some horrible dining out experiences, blew some fireworks up and spent a lot of time with Rob's family.  Which is how it should be.  I am so incredibly lucky to have them as my family.
• While we were gone, the dog was boarded.  Unfortunately we had an awful experience with the place we left him at for a week.  According to them he was a "picky eater" which in reality it appears he didn't eat at all while he was there.  We think the big problem was that they wanted him to eat on their schedule, not his own.  Which is definitely not what he is used to.  I guess we have learned for the future, but he lost a lot of weight and now we get to slowly nurse him back to a healthy beefed up weight that he should be at.
• The week after we got home went by so fast.  We went to the casino, saw more of Rob's family, went to a baseball game, ran a ton of errands, had my Mom take pictures for us and spent as much time together as possible.  But of course all good things most come to an end and Rob's month of being away from the Army was over almost as quickly as it began.  Monday morning Mom accompanied us to the airport for the goodbye.  It was awful.  That's all there is to it.  But the time will go fast especially once I land a job and get back into classes.  Until then I wish he was with me everyday.  Luckily the day after he got there we got to skype, and we get to about twice a day.  It makes things a little bit easier and of course there is always e-mail and facebook so when I can't talk to him and want to, I can just send him a message.  Technology will end up making this so much better.
